Almaseer’s International Advisory Board

The international Advisory Board was created in 2015 and reporting directly to Sarah Kasim and Douglas Way ACII.  The board provides strategic advice to Almaseer in areas such as compliance, corporate risk management and staff training.  In addition, it provides expert assistance in the ongoing development of risk controls and compliance within the company as well as assisting in the management of several ongoing internal projects.

Barry Hammond ACII

Board Member

Barry is an experienced international insurance manager and an expert witness advisor to the UK courts on insurance brokerage negligence.

Barry is a consultant on UK insurance compliance regulation and corporate governance. Additionally, he is an expert in Business Interruption.

Barry holds the qualification Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Angela Darling FCII

Board Member

In her career, Angela has been a Lloyds Underwriter and Broker before writing the original insurance code of conduct for the UK.

Her experience is in writing detailed workflow procedures with systems
and controls and advising on all matters of insurance regulation.

Angela holds the highest qualification awarded by the Charted Insurance
Institute- Fellowship.

James Cole

Board Member

James has extensive experience in the market:

Trained initially as a reinsurance treaty broker, he was seconded to his firm’s construction department where he learnt about individual construction risks. As a result as a treaty broker covering the Middle East including Iraq for one of the largest global broking groups, he developed a specialisation in the construction field.

Later he became involved in IT systems project management in the broking, underwriting and risk management and controls areas, and he now acts as a consultant.
